A Quote!!!

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

Thomas Jefferson, Letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin (1802)

Obama: Part II Health Care

This is on the second chapter from the blueprint, Health care...

First thing,
Obama wants so much more government interferance with the health industry than there is today I'm convinced the only thing he can do is make it worse! any market we see government interferece the prices go up and that market stops revolving around the consumer...

as Ronald Regan once said
"Government can't solve the problem. Government IS the problem!"

I propose a free market healthcare industry. get the government out of it...

I could go in to all the depth of his plans but i'm not here to think for you and i'm to lazy to copy everything out of the blueprint.

so if you want you can go read it yourself...

http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf

pages 6-9

if you want to hear more about how to fix health care and whats wrong with it currently check this guy out... he's was a doctor for a long time and he's delivered like 40 million babies (oh wait 4,000 babies)

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/health-care/

join me next wendsday for chapter three in Barack Obamas booklet "blueprint for change" "Economy" (that will be my first decent blog)

Govenment Control

in Russia there isn't a "true" freedom of the press. I guess they aren't allowed to make fun of their leaders on television there...

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/06/02/africa/russia.php

it's funny because we think of things like this being so far away from American government... untill we know about things like the "Sedition Act"

http://www.constitution.org/rf/sedition_1798.htm

obviously there is alot more to be read there but this is the most crazy thing. This is a description of what the offence is and what they can charge you with. The worst part is that John Adams signed this in as president!!! he was one of our founding fathers! thankfully this is no longer still in effect... so it's okay...

so look!

"SECTION II. Punishes seditious writings.
1. Definition of offence:
To write, print, utter or publish, or cause it to be done, or assist in it, any false, scandalous, and malicious writing against the government of the United States, or either House of Congress, or the President, with intent to defame, or bring either into contempt or disrepute, or to excite against either the hatred of the people of the United States, or to stir up sedition, or to excite unlawful combinations against the government, or to resist it, or to aid or encourage hostile designs of foreign nations.

2. Grade of offence:
A misdemeanour.

3. Punishment:
Fine not exceeding $2000, and imprisonment not exceeding two years. "

If you want to know more about this you can look it up on google or wikipedia, just search
"The Sedition Act of 1798"

Obama: Part I Ethics

This is on the first chapter from the blueprint, Ethics.
This post is going to be a little boring because I basically agree with him on everything in here...

Starting off, he says that he wants to increase government transparency by setting up a public website database that will dialog all lobbying reports, ethics records and campain finance reports. He also wants to create loads of other websites to log government activity that are susspost to be super user friendly and easy to find and download stuff. I am in total agreement with this. It would be a total (good) change from the current bush policy where so many things are done in private.

I personaly would use this ALOT seeing that I already use government sites like house.gov and senate.gov quite a bit. From the way he talks about it i think he would also re-design whitehouse.gov along with some others. I would love to have more websites like this!

He also wants to get all the lobbyist out of the Washington... Who dosin't... I agree with this...

Last thing in this chapter of interest is somthing he calls "sunlight before signing" bascily it says that he will not sign any "non-emergeny" bill without giving the people five days to review it comment it and debate it. Good because it gives "the people" more voice. even though it slows down all of the bills I think it's worth it. although it dosin't give us any authorty it does give us a chance to say what we think. it might turn out to be really funny, like the comment boards on youtube where everyone just hates on eachother but eather way it's a good idea.

That concludes chapter one!

Obama Series

Hey,

So this is a little announcement to let you all know that all of my blogs for the next couple weeks (or possibly months) will all be about Barack Obama. I will be going through his little book that was released on his website "The Blueprint for Change". I am ONLY going to talk about stuff out of the book. You will hear nothing about Rev. Jeremiah Wright or about anything Obama has said outside of this book...

One blog per chapter

Chapters are as fallows

1. Ethics

2. Health Care

3. Economy

4. Seniors

5. Education

6. Energy

7. Fiscal

8. Rural

9. Women
(why men don't get a chapter i have no idea)
10. Immigration

11. Poverty

12. Service

13. Civil Rights

14. Foreing Policy

15. Veterans

P.S.
intend to do the same thing with John Mccain but I diecided to start with Obama because he is easyer to sum-up because he isin't as much of a two faced politician like Mccain.

P.P.S.
I'm going to post once a week on wendsdays.

Tidbit about the Genral election...

This is a little exserpt from ron pauls book
"Revolution: A Manifesto

"Every election season America is presented with a series of false choices. Should we launch
preemptive wars against this country or that one? Should every American neighborhood live under this social policy or that one? Should a third of our income be taken away by an income tax or a national sales tax? The shared assumptions behind these questions, on the other hand, are never cast in doubt, or even raised. And anyone who wants to ask different questions or who suggests that the questions as framed exclude attractive, humane alternatives, is ipso facto excluded from mainstream discussion.
And so every four years we are treated to the same tired, predictable routine: two candidates with few disagreements on fundamentals pretend that they represent dramatically different philosophies of government.
The supposedly conservative candidate tells us about "waste" in government, and ticks off $10 million in frivolous pork-barrel projects that outrage him—the inevitable bridge-to-nowhere project, or a study of the effects of celery consumption on arresting memory loss—in order to elicit laughter and applause from partisan audiences. All right, so that's 0.00045 percent of the federal budget dealt with; what does he propose to do with the other 99.99955 percent, in order to return our country to living within its means? Not a word. Those same three or four silly programs will be brought up all campaign long, and that's all we'll hear about where the candidate stands on spending. But conservatives are told that they must support these candidates, and so they do, hoping for the best. And nothing changes.
Even war doesn't really distinguish the two parties from each other. Hillary Clinton and John Kerry voted for the Iraq war. With the exceptions of Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel, even the Democrats who postured as antiwar candidates for the 2008 primary elections are not especially opposed to needless wars. They typically have a laundry list of other military interventions they would support, none of which make any sense, would make our country any safer, or would do a thing to return our country to fiscal sanity. But liberals are told that they must support these candidates, and so they do, hoping for the best. And nothing changes."

Voting Records... The Truth Is A Scary Thing...

So I was interested in obama's voting record because I wanted to know if he voted for the patriot act. I found out quickly that he was not a senator at the time. I kept looking and found that he did vote to reauthorize the patriot act.

Why Our Foreing policy Isin't keeping us safe...

So I was going to write A huge blog on this about why I don't support America's interventionist foreign policy. Then I found this video that said everything I wanted to say to a tee and he is WAY more qualified to say it than me...
This is Michael Scheuer former head of CIA's Osama Bin Laden Unit. Listen to what he has to say about our interventionist foreign policy and why both Obama and Mcain can't fix the problem

This is good stuff...

I think I like this (first draft) more than the Final Draft of the Preamble to the U.S. constitution

"We hold these truths to be sacred & undeniable; that all men are created equal & independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent & inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these ends, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles & organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness"

A Quote!!!

Something I think we should all think about before we support concepts like Universal Health Care

"The Idea that government has services or goods that they can pass on (to the people) is a complete farce. Governments have nothing. All they can do is steal from one group and give it to another."

- Ron Paul
